SeekOps Inc. develops state-of-the-art trace gas sensors for clients in the energy, waste management, environmental science, and occupational safety industries.  We are looking for a field technician in Aberdeen to assist SeekOps European drone service provider (DSP) partnership interactions.  We’ll be solving interesting problems at the intersection of photonics, manufacturing, robotics, and consumer electronics.  This position is responsible for SeekOps hardware troubleshooting, working closely with SeekOps’ partners in Europe, and handling logistics of shipments between the US, UK, and EU.


Essential Job Functions include the following, but are not limited to:

  • Following troubleshooting and testing procedures outlined by Engineers
  • Liaise between SeekOps HQ in Austin and SeekOps’ service partners in Europe – ensuring hardware is serviced and received on time
  • Testing and verification
  • Inventory tracking
  • Tracking key operational performance and safety metrics
  • Troubleshoot using a systematic approach and repair electronics

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physics, or natural sciences
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience as an electronic device technician working hands-on in a shop environment
  • Proficient in computer applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Experience in troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and repair
  • First principles approach to problem solving

Additional qualifications:

  • Systems engineering experience
  • Strong technical communicator, able to convey complicated topics to a naive audience
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
  • Background working in an ISO 9001 environment or other Quality Management System
  • Flexibility/adaptability in a fast-paced & dynamic environment.
  • Experience working with vendors to manage orders, contracts, etc.
  • Oil and gas field operations experience preferred

Sr. Electrical Engineer

SeekOps® designs and manufactures ultra-lightweight, high sensitivity Tunable Laser Spectroscopy gas sensors for methane and other compounds. Our team works with energy companies to deploy these sensors on UAS and other mobile platforms. SeekOps® UAS systems and advanced algorithms provide a broad range of real-time gas release detection data, including localization and quantification in operational environments. At SeekOps® we believe that a quantitative, data driven approach to natural gas emissions monitoring is a key aspect of infrastructure integrity management, and that a comprehensive monitoring program drives operational excellence, thereby enhancing both environmental health and safety.

As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will work to evaluate and improve SeekOps® products and ensure strict compliance with international industry standard and government regulations. You will collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team of scientists and engineers on a wide range of industrial problems.


 

Responsibilities

  • Design and test digital, analog and mixed signal circuits (op-amp circuits, analog filters, interface circuits, and signal conditioning)
  • Circuit simulation of new designs and design modifications
  • Write and test embedded firmware, and PC based scripts
  • Build prototypes of power electronics circuits and sensors for design verification
  • Verify and validate electro-mechanical design performance by establishing reliability, maintainability and durability test standards; building and testing prototypes; performing debugging procedures; conducting compatibility evaluations; analyzing test data; identifying, isolating and resolving performance problems
  • Schematic capture and PCB layout using EagleCAD
  • Responsible for maintaining electrical design and product compliance with all company and governmental regulations
  • Customarily and regularly collaborates with other development teams/leaders and provide project planning and progress reporting.

 

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

  • BS degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Must have at least 10 years of hands-on electrical design experience in a mixed technical team (ME, FW, SW, etc.), preferably in consumer electronics industry
  • Electronic system design
  • Sensor and system integration experience
  • Expert in op-amp circuits, analog Filters, interface circuits, and signal conditioning
  • Circuit simulation (Spice or equivalent)
  • Electronics hardware testing and debug (rework station, oscilloscope, analyzers)
  • PCB Design, analog board design, analog systems design (EagleCAD, OrCAD, Altium, KiCAD, etc.)
  • Electronic system RF emissions analysis
  • Familiar with manufacturing technologies and DFM
  • FCC Compliance and Design Standards

Additional qualifications:

  • MS degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent subject
  • Familiarity with on-board power supplies, switching power supplies, inductive buck/boost converters, and Charge pumps
  • Design of lithium ion charging circuits and state of charge measurement
  • Familiarity with Analog/Digital signal processing
  • Previous experience with electronics design and testing methods for low/high environmental temperature conditions
  • Previous experience with electronics design and testing methods for high shock and vibration applications
  • Updating requirements, specifications, and verification tests
  • Firmware Design, 8 bit, ARM tool flow and debugger
  • PCB Design: IS or ATEX Rating Compliance and design standards.
  • Intrinsically Safe/Explosion Proof design

As a Front End Developer, you will work to evaluate and improve SeekOps user experience (internal and external). You will collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team of engineers and scientists on a wide range of problems. This position functions to develop and maintain the answer products (e.g. quantifications, visualizations, associations) and ensure our external customers are provided the best insights into their emissions.


 

Responsibilities

  • Writing clean, well-structured, testable components with React hooks
  • Collaborating with stakeholders whenever clarification of requirements are needed
  • Collaborating with backend team to define data contracts for endpoints when necessary
  • Modifying existing React components
  • Participating in Pull Request reviews
  • Writing tests for components with Jest and Testing-Library

 

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

Electronics Technician

SeekOps Inc. develops state-of-the-art trace gas sensors for clients in the energy, waste management, environmental science, and occupational safety industries.  We are looking for an electronics technician to develop processes to make complicated things easy to build.  We’ll be solving interesting problems at the intersection of photonics, manufacturing, robotics, and consumer electronics.  This position is responsible for mechanical design of both sensor packages and fixturing for manufacturing of sensors; additionally, this role will directly support production through hands-on work, development of standard operating procedures, and coordination with contract manufacturers.


 

Essential Job Functions include the following, but are not limited to:

  • Parts acquisition and BOM Management
  • Assembly of printed circuit boards (PCB) in a manufacturing environment
  • Testing and verification of assembled boards
  • Inventory tracking of parts and assembled PCBs
  • Analyze and interpret test yield data and report trends and weaknesses.
  • Troubleshoot using a systematic approach and repair electronic components, PCBs, assemblies etc.

 

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in electrical or electronics technology
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience as an electronics technician working hands-on in a shop environment
  • Proficient in computer applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Proficient in soldering
  • Experience reading and understanding electronics schematics
  • Experience using oscilloscopes, multimeters, and other electronics evaluation tools
  • Experience in advanced circuit troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and repair

  • First principles approach to problem solving
  • Able to perform work while looking through a microscope
